Emer is a multi instrumentalist with a passion for all styles of music. She has been teaching piano, voice and guitar for the last 25 years. She is a mother of two and moved to Barrie from Toronto 9 years ago. After working at several different private music schools in Toronto she decided to open her own school in Barrie. It has been an amazing journey! She has helped and inspired so many students to follow and pursue their musical dreams. MLB is not just about taking music lessons, it is about being part of a musical community that inspires and helps cultivate and spread the joy of music. Emer enjoys working with students of all ages. She has a natural way of connecting with her students and helps them build confidence. As well as teaching private lessons she has worked in the Toronto District School Board instructing glee programs and also leads ukulele circles for seniors. Her musical journey began with the piano, at the Royal Conservatory of Music, in Toronto at the age of 7 where she completed her grade 8 RCM certificate in piano. Over time she developed a love for jazz and popular music which ultimately led her to the commercial jazz program at Humber College where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in voice & performance. She graduated from Humber with honors in 2007 and went on to do a degree in music education at York University graduating in 2011. All through her studies she was performing and recording her original music and learning all about the music business first hand. In 2007 she recorded her first EP of original music with Ron Lopata, now VP A&R Warner Music Canada at Warner Music Canada. She brings this knowledge of the music business into her lessons educating students in all aspects of the music world.

Craig Halliday
Drum Teacher
Craig is a drummer, percussionist and producer originally from Nova Scotia, now living in Barrie. He has over 30 years of playing experience including U.S. and Canadian tours. Craig studied drums and music performance at Humber College with Ted Warren and Paul DeLong. He has also studied privately with well known teacher Jim Blackley. He has played at SXSW, NXNE and other music festivals and popular venues across Canada. He has recorded and played with countless up and coming Toronto jazz and rock/indi bands including Canadian Juno nominee's. He is a solid drummer/percussionist versed in all styles of drum grooves and beats from jazz, funk and RnB to cuban and world rhythms. He can do it all. He adapts his lessons to individual learning needs creating a balance between the conceptual and technical approaches of drumming.
